Step back in time and immerse yourself in the warm glow of history at the magnificent Museum of History Benicia. We invite you to join us for a historic party and social gathering at our third annual Candlelit Evening.

At this unique event, you will have the opportunity to explore the rich history of Benicia, California, under the soft flickering light of candles. The Museum of History Benicia provides the perfect backdrop for this special evening, with its stunning stone architecture and timeless charm.

Candlelit Evening will transport you to another era, where you can choose your experience. Join us for an all-inclusive evening beginning with a Historical Cocktail Tasting at 6:30 PM for $75 per person, or for $50 per person begin your evening at 7:30 with live music, appetizers, Silent Auction, and more. Each experience will be memorable in every way, as you immerse yourself in the beauty and mystery of history. The evening will be filled with engaging conversations, laughter, and a shared appreciation for our past. This event is ideal for history enthusiasts, social butterflies, and anyone looking to enjoy a unique and memorable evening.

Your event ticket includes admission, live entertainment, a glass of champagne or a non-alcoholic beverage of your choice upon arrival and delightful appetizers. Gala tickets are $60 at the door, or $85 for the Historical Cocktail Tasting.

As a long-standing community anchor, the Museum of History Benicia uses the funds generated through its programs, fundraisers, and events to directly support our Public Programming which includes in-person, virtual, and Traveling Trunk Programs. Through our educational outreach and Public Programming, we give students the ability to visit our museum in whatever way fits their curriculum. Our programs provide students with the ability to dig into the history of California through specially tailored experiences in archaeology, history, and curation. Students are presented with unique perspectives on the history of their city and state as they fit into the broader narrative of our nation as well as the role museums fill in the broader cultural understanding of our communities. It is our continued goal to provide them with context derived through learning from primary accounts, material culture, and professional practices in the areas of history, archaeology, anthropology, and exhibit design.
