California Native Americans Traveling Trunk

The Native American Traveling Trunk includes items featuring the Native Patwins as well as materials from other tribes in central California.
The trunk contains a teacher’s manual with seven lesson plans with stories, puzzles, and activities to challenge and enrich the learning experience. Also included are laminated pictures and instructions to recreate your own Native Californian village. Role-play or interact directly with over 40 authentic or replicated artifacts!

Play Native American games, make grass cording, listen to stories, dance and play music by the famous Tahi Indian, Ishi, and learn to weave baskets by watching a video.

California Mission Traveling Trunk is currently unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

The California Mission Traveling Trunk includes lessons about the founding, mission trail, and characteristics of the missions of California. Beautiful watercolor pictures of the 21 missions are included to let students see how the missions would have looked while they were active missions.

There are lesson plans and activities for: missions architecture, history of the Spanish fan, clothing, music, and dance of the early 1800s.

Also included are authentic recipes for: sopa de albondigas, tortillas, pastelitos de boda, and chocolate Espanol!

 

 

California Mission Traveling Trunk

The Traveling Trunks can be rented for a weekly fee of $25. A damage deposit of $25 is required at the time of scheduling along with your completed rental form. The damage deposit will be refunded when the trunk is returned to the Museum. The pick up and return of the Traveling Trunks will be scheduled during Office Hours (Tuesday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM) or Museum Hours (Wednesday – Sunday, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM).

After completing this form, use the button below to submit the damage deposit online using PayPal. You can also fill out a paper copy of the traveling trunk rental form and mail it and the $25 damage deposit fee to the Museum.
