Public Tours
Self Guided Tours
Self guided tours are available during our regular hours (Wed – Fri 10am to 4pm & Sat-Sun 1 to 4pm) and no appointment is required. Our self-guided tours include the main Museum, featuring artifacts and storyboards: from the Native Patwin tribes of Solano County, the founding of Benicia, California Statehood, The Benicia Arsenal, Industrialization, to the arts in Benicia.
Please allow 1 to 1 1/2 hours for your Museum tour. The Museum is handicap accessible.
Tours of the Powder Magazine are not available as part of a self-guided tour. See below for information about guided tours.
Guided Tours & Group Tours
Guided Tours during museum hours (Wed – Fri 10am to 4pm & Sat-Sun 1 to 4pm) can be booked for groups of 10 or more people. Tours can also be scheduled outside Museum hours by arrangement.
Please note: There is limited availability for guided tours on weekends and in the month of December. All tours include the main Museum, featuring artifacts and storyboards: from the Native Patwin tribes of Solano County, the founding of Benicia, California Statehood, The Benicia Arsenal, Industrialization, to the arts in Benicia.
Please allow 1 to 1 1/2 hours for your Museum tour. The Main Museum Gallery is handicap accessible.
If your group is interested in visiting the Powder Magazine, allow an additional 1/2 hour. Be aware that the Powder Magazine is located about a quarter mile from the Museum, and the Powder Magazine Tour is only accessible by a short flight of stairs.
